London City Airport has launched a 10 week consultation into expansion proposals in July. More than 500 people objected to London City Airport’s proposals to step up weekend flights and increase passenger numbers by 40 per cent. And airlines will be forced to use new, quieter aircraft on Saturday afternoons. The airport also proposed six extra flights during the first hour of operation from 6.30am, which has now been scaled back to three additional flights. The plan now is for flights on Saturdays to end at 6.30pm, or 7.30pm at the height of summer.
